October 4, 2021

Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)
------------

     10/6: A GLOSSY IBIS was found on the wildlife Trail and continues up to 
today. A WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER was seen along the Wildlife trail.
     10/7: A HUDSONIAN GODWIT was seen at Knox-Marsellus Marsh.
     10/9: 5 SANDERLINGS were seen olong the Wildlife trail.
     10/10: A DICKCISSEL was heard in flight at East Road.
     10/11: 5 Shorebird species including 4 STILT SANDPIPERS were seen at the 
Visitor’s Center. 5 Shorebird species including an AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER were 
seen along the Wildlife Trail.


Onondaga County
------------

     10/5: 21 GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSHES were heard singing night-flight calls from 
Adath Jeshurun Cemetery in Syracuse. Another 4 were heard on Jamesville Road in 
Syracuse.
     10/7: A BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER was spotted on the Marshy Spits on the west 
shore of Onondaga Lake.
     10/8: An ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER was seen along the West Shore Trail on 
Onondaga Lake.
     10/10: This was the last report of the LAUGHING GULL on the docks near the 
Ampitheater on Onondaga Lake.


Oswego County
------------

     10/5: An ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER was seen at Great bear Recreational Area 
north of Phoenix.
     10/6: A rare for our area NORTHERN WHEATEAR was found at the Outlet of 
Sandy Pond on Lake Ontario.  A RED KNOT was also found in that area. Both of 
these birds were relocated on the 7th. but not since. also seen on the 6th. 
were BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER, STILT SANDPIPER, SANDERLING and DUNLIN.
     10/7: A HUDSONIAN GODWIT was found at the outlet of Sandy Pond and 
continued to the 8th. A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was found here also and 
continued till the 11th.
      10/8: A PARASITIC JAEGER was seen from the bluff at Derby Hill. A 
PARASITIC JAEGER and a LONG-TAILED JAEGER were spotted from the outlet at Sandy 
Pond out over Lake Ontario. Also seen here that day were a LAPLAND LONGSPUR and 
a CACKLING GOOSE.


Madison County
-------------

     10/9: A GOLDEN EAGLE was seen in flight near EdenHollow Road south of 
Erieville.


Oneida County
------------

     10/10: 3 GREAT EGRETS were seen at the Utica Marsh. A RED-HEADED 
WOODPECKER was seen on Black Hollow Road near Remsen.


Herkimer County
------------

     8/8: 4 PINE SISKINS were seen north of Little Falls on Rt. 170A.
     8/9: A GREAT EGRET was seen at McKoons Marsh north of Richfield Springs. 
It was relocated the next day.
