Hi All, Ran into an interesting scenario where I was using a floating static route to back up another route .Note however they use the same outgoing interface.
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 200.1.1.2 ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 200.1.1.3 15 ! I went on to shut the interface with the ip add 200.1.1.2 expecting the 2nd route to kick in.It didnt. Unfortunately static routes are recursive in nature and the fact that a connected route to the 200.1.1.0 subnet remains in the routing table prevented the failure of my first default route. Any ideas as to how I can use a default route to 2 diff next-hops within the same subnet/link? Probably tracking:-) Rgds, Mo _______________________________________________ For more information regarding industry leading CCIE Lab training, please visit www.ipexpert.com Are you a CCNP or CCIE and looking for a job?
