Remember these rules in Frame Relay The main frame-relay interface is Multipoint by default.
If it is multipoint then it can have many DLCI's associated with it and resolution to remote ip 's is required. The resolution can be dynamic or Static. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If the interface is a subinterface then you have to specify whether the interface is a Multipoint interface or Point to Point Subinterface If it multipoint then you have bring DLCI's from the main interface to the subinterface and provide mapping as there are mutliple DLCI's. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ If the interface is point to point subinterface then the respective DLCI has to be moved from main interface to p2p subinterface . No mapping is required as it is P2P. If it is not for me then it is for you :) On Thu, Jun 13, 2013 at 4:28 PM, <[email protected]> wrote: > On frame relay one single VC is only provisioned for connection of kind > point to point, same VC originates at local end and finished at end > remote, hence only one dlci can be referenced for conn P2P. > Furthemore you do not need to use static mapping, because is always > assumed that two end point (local and end) resides to same subnet, also > inverse arp is not important, because exist one single remote > destination and pvc discovery is not necessary. > However you can configure multipoint as p2p > example > > serial0/0 > en frame > int s0/0.1 multi > ip add 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.0 > fram map ip 1.1.1.1 205 > fram map ip 1.1.1.2 205 b > > > On Thu, Jun 13, 2013, at 10:17 AM, khaled al-ajeman wrote: > > hi there, > > I am trying to map the frame-relay link under point-to-point interface, > > but > > it is not allowing me to do that, any thought.
