hy people, does cipc get vlan through cdp?? i have read in cisco.com that it does indeed happen... but i have tried many times and could not make it happen. when i have to put it in the voice vlan i have to give "access vlan command" to the switchport.
one reason the voice vlan command doesnt work may be because the pc port doesnt know how to tag them...(i've tried only on older switches so need to make the port trunk manually)... may be newer switch models have no such problems(but dual vlan is still a mini trunk right so does pc port know how to deal with it?)... i have noticed that when i install cipc, it also installs many networking stuffs like qos and cdp support..(check network properties)... joel. -- "it's not the years in your life that count.
