Gang; I'm running some old (>50 years) 7 track tapes and I've come across an oddball tapemark. Instead of 17 octal with a 17 LRCC and even parity, I"m getting 17 00 17 - and the 00 is in the correct (for the tape, odd) parity.
I don't know what system wrote this. Does this ring any bells with anyone? CDC perhaps--I don't recall. --Chuck
