Please do not try to spread FUD!

wodim is full of bugs and it's users usually spend their time to write bug
reports that are ignored.

Let us discuss the quality of "wodim" (really cdrkit)...... a few weeks
ago, I did check the bugtracking system from Ubuntu together with the Ubuntu
cdrecording group. It turned out that _all_ bugs in the Ubuntu BTS that are
related to the CD/DVD recording software a caused by "cdrkit" - the wodim
 bundle.

 - Some of the bugs have been fixed in the original during the past 2
years
and thus are no longer present in the original cdrtools

 - The other bugs are bugs that have been introduced by the "wodim
         maintainers"

 Check http://cdrecord.berlios.de/new/private/linux-dist.html#problems
for a shortened list of the main problems.

I cannot talk about "cdrskin" as it is non-portable ....

I guess that it supports only a very limited set of functions that may under
_some_ conditions _and_ newer Linux kernel work, but as I did write many times
before, in general, you need root privileges on Linux.
