By the way the Batas Pambansa law is B> P> 880 whch was passed in 1985 in the
wake of the DOUBLE violent dispersal of a JAJA (Justice 4 Aquino, Justice 4
All) Rally at Welcome in 1985 or 1984. It was the first time that I can
remember that dispersed rallyists took refuge at the Sto. Domingo Compound (I
dispersed myself all the way to UST walking.). The second time was the June or
July 2004 FPJ rally when I was on the stage truck which went first to PLDT then
to Mayon St (I ended up at the FPJ studios.). re my E

This is a good suggestion. Also, here's a symbolic permit we can also use for
the vigil. It's a nice way of letting people know that assembling is a RIGHT
enshrined in our constitution. Just edit it and use the words in our own
consti. US consti kasi yung nakalagay diyan.

By the way, according to Batas Pambansa 546 or 846, permits should be applied
five workingn days before the date of the event.

Hi Rodel and company, Have you applied for a permit from the LGU with
jurisdiction over the surroundings of the EDSA Shrine? Unlike the Luneta which
is under the National Parks something ... , EDSA Shrine is owned by the Roman
Catholic Archdiocese of Manila. During GMA's Admin, Mandaluyong City would
reject and the Mandaluyong PNP as well as its superior the EPD would recommend
the rejection of applications for permits to march, picket or rally using the
EDSA Shrine's opposition to such activities as their excuse. However, I was
twice able to get permits from Quezon City between 2005 and 2007. I met MMDA
Chairman Francis Tolentino at a birthday party last Saturday night. The host,
Ferdie advised him not to be negative to the rally. However, he was shocked
when I advised him that my impression from listening to an interview with the
initiator on ABS CBN's DZMM Teleradyo, was that the rally would continue until
pork, possibly all pork, was scrapped. In
February 1986, up to Friday, Feb 24, I was able to get a vigil permit covering
multiple organizations for the People Power Monument. Fr. Robert Reyes's group
had held a multi month vigil there. However, I understand that applications
have to cleared first with the EDSA Commission. I went to the Monday, Aug 26
Million March with my family and friends. My contribution was walis ting tings
and trash bags for those interested in cleaning up. I'm offering you a dozen of
this and trash bags with the intention of keeping my city clean and maintaining
the good impression created last Aug 26 regarding discipline and cleanliness.

Whether the million refers to signatures or warm bodies, be careful. Never mind
if you are fewer than a million or a thousand, just keep on. Be careful that
your noise barrage does not get compared with that of April 6, 1978. A vigil
gets a lenghtier media coverage than a usual rally. It is more difficult to
educate with a big but short rally. Linggoy
