This thread has brought tears to my eyes ...
I played every single early Sierra game, and wrote the walkthroughs for
several (LSL2, SQ3 and SQ4, PQ2, Goldrush, and others). ManHunter were my
favorite, although #3 (San Francisco) never came out. I beta tested a bunch
of their games, was one of the original TSN (The Sierra Network) members,
and still have all the early games on 5 1/4" floppies.
I used to know half the folks who worked there by name, lived on their BBS
(anyone remember Major BBS by Galactacomm?) at a blazing 1200 baud, and so
loved that company that once upon a time I almost went to work for them. I
wonder what I'd be doing now if I had gone that route .... hummmm.

Don't know about Roberta and her crew up in the mountains at Coarsegold, CA,
but do know that their company, Sierra, was bought by Havas Intl.
And <damn> but this mess and some sloppily-written contracts (I've heard)
are delaying the release of Half-Life 2 !!
I WANT THAT GAME !!! But there's some hope in the meantime: a new add-on
called Half-Life: Blue Shift is coming in June. (You play from the
perspective of one of the security guards.)
Blue Shift also contains an add-on "high definition pack" which will greatly
improve the graphics of the original Half-Life, Half-Life Opposing Force,
and Half-Life Counter-Strike.
Any Half-Life players on the list??

Leisure Suit larry, Kings Quest, and the Space Quest series represented a
hallowed epoch in computer gaming to me.

Titles such as those I fear we'll never see again. What happened to Roberta?
And the guys that made Space Quest..and Leisure Suit Larry...
