US, that might have made me say ok, possibly I was wrong.
I mean, you are invoking the specter of Neville Chamberlain, right?
It is a fact that there are people who simply cannot be appeased and
to attempt to do so merely weakens you. It's 20/20 hindsight now,
sure, but I am not convinced that Saddam was a threat outside his own
borders, and even his admitted atrocities within them were years
before we invaded and afaik had not been repeated in recent years.
There simply was no imminent threat to anyone but W's sense of
manhood. Sorry to keep saying that, but in the end that is really what
I think this has been all about.
