I beleive the issue has more to do with 
1) force states to recogize another states marraige...ie gay couple
gets married in Cali and moves to Ohio...are they still married?
 2) should the sates even make this decision or is this something the
federal government should decide.

I'll be honest though I thought this issue was a large crock of
steaming hourse crap so I generally ignored it, so my informtion could
be completely wrong....
