www.divineo.com has been good to me on several occasions (very fast shipping, good communication, etc.) Something to remember, if you mod your xbox, you're going to have to jump through some hoops to play on Xbox Live, which is one of the reasons the xbox rocks.
But if you are interested in modding your xbox, it's all pretty straightforward: 1. Buy a solderless modchip: SmartXX and Xenium are the latest and greatest. 2. Install the beatch. Simple and easy, it takes around 10-15 minutes or so with good directions. 3. Replace the harddrive. 4. Burn and run Slayer's auto-installer, search the web/IRC for it. 5. Enjoy! You can rip games to the HD, run emulators for just about everything pre-dreamcast, pull movies, music and pictures from your computer, etc. All fine and dandy, but Xbox live is beyond nifty...so you might as well pick up two xboxes while you're at it.
