So long as it's a privately funded, non-legislated action I would have
no objection to a "post-mortem" review.  However my concerns on the
concept that it should be mandated and funded by the federal
government.

Remember, in Florida 2000 after three different newspapers spent
something like 6 months doing an complete hand recount Bush still won
the state and therefore the election.
