Thing is too that people will self medicate - if they are feeling
anxious etc they're more likely to do drugs or alcohol. When I was
doing my master's thesis, I included a drug and alcohol use
questionnaire.  I found what quite a few other studies found, there's
a strong relationship between using drugs or alcohol and
panic/anxiety. This relationship was stronger for men than for women.
