I don't agree with that:

1.) MIT wants people who naturally tinker with robots, not
begrudgingly do it to get into the school (that's what Harvard is for
:)  The legal saying for your statement is, "the law is an ass."  That
is, you're violating the intention of the rule.

2.) A private school has the right to admit who they want for whatever
reason they want IMO.  Look at it this way: do you favor the gov't
banning smoking at restaurants or do you think restaurants should be
able to choose and let the market decide?  I bet you'd say let the
market decide.  That's the same as with schools - if a school wants to
be a "black school", let them.


Personal anecdote: I can almost always tell you where someone went to
B school.  Here's the bigot list off the top of my head:

Harvard: flaky, weirdos
U Chicago: math geeks
Wharton: normal
Tuck: Jocks
Kellogg: Pretty boys & girls

None of these are by race, notice, but all of the schools must be
discriminating because I can call it almost every time and I'm not
alone.
