No, actually Randy said it right - most people's brains cannot process small words like "of", "the", "is", et al. When they count the "f"s they will skip the ones in the small words. In this example that means they'll say 3 rather than the correct answer, 6. Congratulations to those of you that got it right! If you truly got it right without knowing the principle you're in something like the top 3% of people given the test with this in it.
