I spent the better part of 20 years in Scouting both as a Scout and a Scoutmaster and always looked forward to spending time with my son in scouting.
I have a four year old daughter and my wife is currently 20 weeks along with our second (and last child). Yesterday we had an ultrasound and IT'S A GIRL! I always said it didn't matter and would be happy to have a healthy baby boy or girl. However, reading the pinewood derby thread really drove home that I will not being doing those things with a son that I have so looked forward to most of my life. And it has hit a little harder than I thought. -----Original Message----- From: Ray Champagne [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, March 18, 2005 7:44 AM To: CF-Community Subject: Re: Pinewood Derby My dad helped me with my first Pinewood car, and although he is not an engineer, we still had a kickass car that killed everyone. We hollowed out the front of the car and melted a bunch of lead into it. As a 8 or 10 year old, I thought that was so damn clever. I still have the car around somewhere....
