Great post, thanks.  I'm definitely not impressed with the mileage and
it's reinforcing my "red herring" feeling about these hybrids.

The auto industry has already done POC petrol engines capable of
delivering 70MPG or more, but the market has never been there for them
so they've never built them into cars.

I would be willing to bet that's still true - people like the "hybrid"
concept much better than a straight petrol engine even if the petrol
out-performed the hybrid.

On another note MN is going to 20% ethanol in a few years.
