The Seneca Nation signed a casino compact with the state that calls
for three casinos... one in the Falls, one in Buffalo and one in the
southern tier.

Two of them are operational - they turned the old convention center in
the Falls into a massive casino and have now built their first hotel
(two more are on the planning boards) as well as a parking ramp to
handle the parking. Third street and the rest of the town are still a
dive though. The casino gives a huge chunk of money to the town and
county each year.

The third, in Buffalo, hasn't happened because as usual every
politician and union boss in the city and county are trying to get
their hands in the pot. Kinda like every other good idea that appears
in Buffalo --- everyone starts grabbing the minute anyone puts any
money in view.
