well... as in most things if you look into it, the truth is somewhere
in the middle. I think. I confessed that I skimmed too. But what I got
out of it was something like this.

Cariboo population has increased globally, perhaps because of attempts
(due to regulation? dunno) to keep the pipelines from crossing
migratory paths.  Where they do though, caribou are hesitant to cross
them and avoid them generally.

Caribou at Prudhoe Bay, closest to the oil refineries, are negatively affected. 

That particular document may be zoomed into the problem a bit too
close. If the above is mistaken in some way please don't eat me :)
Stuff to do and moving fast. But if your goal is to convince me that
oil is good for wildlife you aren't there yet :)
