<sigh> makes me long for my High School days, when we were called Hot Rodders, and it was all about camshaft lift and duration, single piece forged crankshafts, boring and blueprinting, hotter coils and distributors, blowers, headers, dual carbs, and how high was your intake manifold....
I'll take the blown and injected Chevy Nova I had in High School over a jacked up Honda lawn mower any day :) Scott A. Stewart, Web Application Developer Engineering Consulting Services, Ltd. In the interest of education: CAI = cold air intake. More air, especially cooler air, equals more power. Catback = that part of your exhaust system from the cats back. BOV = blow off valve - on your turbo charger to release pressure and keep your turbine from seizing. All of this stuff is to give your car more power which is done simply: more air, preferably colder air, + more fuel + free flowing exhaust = more power. * Cold air intakes and intercoolers help deliver a higher volume of cooler air. Cold air is important because it's more dense, i.e., more oxygen per volume. * Turbos and superchargers pressurize the air which means an even greater volume of air to the combustion chamber. * Larger fuel injectors, fuel rails, and fuel pumps help deliver enough fuel to match your larger air flow. * Hacking the engine's computer helps you to manage these new increased air and fuel flows. * Catbacks, downpipes, etc help keep the exhaust flowing freely. Welcome to the world of tuning! A new sport for you! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Find out how to get a fax number that sends and receives faxes using your current email address http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=64 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:168809 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
