What is the difference between movie ratings?

G
PG
R
X

Apply similar standards. If the content of a site would receive a "R"
rating according to movie standards then it does not have to have a .xxx
extension.

If the content would receive a movie rating of X then the site needs
..xxx It works in the movie industry it could work here too.

I kind of see your point. It makes me wonder what the dividing line is
that separates porn from artful nudity or something similar. Would
dirty stories be considered porn? I wonder who's going to do the
deciding.

Not so easily. What is pornographic? Is a site talking about breast
cancer that shows photos on how to do a self examination pornographic?
I bet somebody thinks so. Are they in a position to make their opinion
law?

It would be the same problem with movies. Where is the line between
pornographic and non-pornographic? It's easy to point to the ends, but
defining the line in the middle is very muddy.
