I saw an interesting History/Discover/The Learning Channel/PBS (I have a hard time keeping those channels apart) show about the heroic efforts to keep New Orleans dry particularly from the Mississippi river. Some of which obviously failed this past week.
Basically Mother Nature really, really, really wants New Orleans to be underwater right now. If we had not stepped in decades ago to try and thawart her, it would be by now. It is an interesting man & technology vs. nature struggle.
