How about removing "under god" which I've heard was only added in the 50's? 
Even if it wasn't, that seems like the more logical answer, as including it in 
the pledge and keeping the pledge out of schools doesn't actually separate the 
church and state.


That's the proper conclusion, but it is not a stop the courts can take, as I 
understand it.  They rule (correctly and much too late IMHO) that the pledge, 
as is, is unconstitutional.  Then it would be up to the legislature to correct 
it, by hopefully removing the last phrase added 50 years ago.

The next target, I suspect is money.  I would be interested to know, when our 
current design (not counting the latest modifications) of our currency was 
created.  I have a feeling it is not as old as many may think.
