I'll chime in like this... Think of the drug problem , everyone screams "We need to get the drug abusers off the streets". The problem isn't the abusers it's the suppliers, If you cut off the supply the abuse will curtail.
Now apply the same logic to abortion. The problem isn't abortion it's unwanted pregnancy, you stop abortions by reducing the need for them, readily supplying contraceptives whenever and wherever they're needed. You educate people about the dangers of unprotected sex, and how to prevent pregnancy. In a perfect world a policy of abstinence would work, this isn't a perfect world. Then you save abortion for when it's really needed, when the mother's life is in mortal peril, or cases of rape or incest. Scott A.
