Because it wasn't good for business. It has nothing to do with the Freedom of Press. They had, and still do have, every right to air the episode. Hey, I could go out and put a sign outside my window saying that I think that all priests are pedophiles (they aren't, just using an example), and we'd probably lose half our client base.
