I have a "proud daddy" story that kind of goes along with this. Yesterday, I'm playing ball with my lab, Libby, at the local park. Well, the ball bounced out in the street because of a horrible throw by me, and all I had to do is yell "STOP!" to her, and she stopped, sat down, and stared the ball down from the park side of the street. I walked over, and there was a guy walking on the other side who threw me the ball and praised both the dog and me for how well trained she is.
I loved every minute of it. It was lots of hard work in the beginning, but it has paid off so many times with compliments and whatnot. By the way, this same dog literally never is on a leash, even in the city. When I step into a coffee shop in town, I know I can just say "Stay" at the door, and when I come back out, she'll be right there waiting. I love a good trained dog. :) Ray G wrote: > Then your punishment isn't sufficient. > > It sucks doing it.
