One thing I learned from the guys at the parts stores is to use ONLY distilled water. No more tap water ever goes in the vette. I cleaned too much scale out of the surge tank when I replaced the radiator. No telling how much is in the rest of the engine. It needs a good flushing.
In fact, my big summer project is to replace the heater core that is just packed with scale.
