Well, if you've got $1200, about the coolest electric I've seen is the RoboMower. My neighbor has one and it rocks: On a set schedule it drives out of its charging base, mows the lawn, and then drives back into it's charger. It's got an anti-theft mechanism too, although I don't know how that works. And if it's raining or if the grass is too wet, it'll detect that and defer it's schedule. It's got 3 or 4 electric blades and is really quiet - and safe: if you bump it, it automatically shuts down and then starts up again when it's safe.
