When you long for a cartoonist as your president, you know things have
gotten pretty bad.

It's sadly ironic that Mr. Bush's failure as a businessman mirrors his

Very good point. Create the illusion of succiess via the obfuscation of
progress. Hey, that could be a campaign slogan.

Mature leaders know that errors are inevitable, can't be avoided, and

There are two situations where people simply refuse to acknowledge the
"facts" as their senses perceive them, and instead choose to believe what
they want. One situation involves a higher power, and is called "faith", the
other situation involves practical decisions and is called "voluntary
ignorance".

I wonder if some Bush supporters are confusing the latter for the former.

It's taken Mr. Bush years to admit any errors, and he's certainly

Admitting errors means nothing if it is not paired with a genuine desire or
means to correct them. It's like the old religious question: Is it true that
God forgives all sins? Yes, but only if you are truly sorry and work to
reconcile with the wronged.

Was that the episode with the little scamp singing the national anthem, then
breaking into a bikini half way through to sing her next hit? That was dayum
amusing.
