Well, but google is keeping track of how many times you call your
mother, and other things to get an idea of your habits so they have a
better chance of you getting an ad that is more targeted towards what
you may want to buy or might be willing to make an impulse buy. Or so
they can sell those trends to somebody else so that they can target you
in other ways.

People pay for those ad views based on impressions, and they count
those, and probably where they are displayed, and maybe even who they
display them too, so they can measure your willingness to click.

Psychological tricks used to sell me things worry me a lot more than a
program that seeks to identify trends in usage for the purpose of
understanding the timing of a terrorist attack.
