Am I the only one to notice that moods and attitudes have gotten way serious, way personal and way confrontational way fast lately? Not just in CF-Community, but overall? Maybe it's just me or my surroundings, but since about the 15th of January things have been rather blunt. For me I've felt it at the office, at home, on email lists, on IRC... it's like someone took a massive dump in everyone's wheaties.
The conversation/argument between Beth and Howie is just one example. The "visit" by Tom is another. Look back through the messages and there is always some static tension, but never has it been so blatant. It's not only in this email list either. I'm a member of a yahoo group for a Ham Radio program called I-Link. It was founded by a gentleman from England and a majority of the members are from England. Yesterday a message thread was started by some guy that was completely in-your-face calling for a ban on all US, Canadian and Australian hams from the system. It wasn't the absurdity of his request, but rather the way he did it and the completely combatative nature of the whole thread. I just wonder what's next.
