re "some counties, no alcohol",

when I was in Dallas it was wet or dry by precinct within the metro area.
In wet precincts, restaurants could sell alcohol by the drink and there were
package stores.
In dry precincts, only private clubs could sell alcohol by the drink.

So we went to a Mexican restaurant, found in order to get a Margarita we had
to pay $10 for a "weekend membership card" in their private club, then we
could buy the drink.

Can anybody say "hypocrisy" (in the name of capitalism!)?

Pretty similar to the way it is in Lexington.

On Sunday, no bars are open, and grocery stores cannot sell alcohol. All
alcohol sales must stop at 1:00 AM.

In some counties, no alcohol at all.
