Based on the probability discussion, I've pondered a new casino game you can play with your neighbors and get rich.
It's called Toss For Treasure! Here are the rules: The player can choose a few different ways to play: (1.) Bet $1 on one toss, win $0.50, or (2.) Bet $1 on 2 tosses, call them, win $2, or (3.) Bet $1 on 3 tosses, call them, win $5, or (4.) Bet $1 on 4 tosses, call them, win $10! That's right folks! Step right up. Bet a single $1, throw 4 heads in a row and win $10! Now, get your dollars out, who's first ... (Interesting side note: my wife and I just did this with #2 and 16 tosses. My expected loss was $4 and I did indeed lose $4. But I got on a few rolls and thought I was going to clean up.
