That's the thing; the UI can be turned off. In fact, there is one
version of vista that doesn't include the new UI at all.

My laptop has a 40 gig hard drive, 1gig of ram, and a 64 meg video
controller and it runs vista just fine with the new UI.

This is my point, you want the new UI, you can upgrade hardware and get
them. You just want the security features and the new version, you can
get only that stuff.
