Have you read Post Capitalist Society, by Peter Drucker? We are
corporations, because we own them, bit by bit, through funds and pensions.

Corporations do not have the responsibilities of individuals, but the
individuals who make up the staff and shareholders of corporations do.
Pension plans and investment funds own the majority of wealth in U.S.
corporations. And who are they accountable to? Individuals. That doesn't
mean those individuals can command the corporations to do as they see fit,
but there is some accountability.

CEOs and boards still have too much power, in the opinions of some people,
but on the really big, important issues, individuals can make a difference.
Individual people shamed US corporations into divesting from South Africa,
helping to lead to the collapse of apartheid. That was effective use of
individual power against corporate power for social good.

No, it doesn't generally work out that way, and yes, corporations will still
win most of the battles they fight. Is your main issue the balance of power
between corporations and the public? Or is it the amoral nature of the
corporate entity? I can't tell, exactly. I hear what you are saying, I just
don't think you can separate the corporate entities from the people that run
them and own them.
