My take on it is if you don't hit someone you don't have to worry about
it.

I'm not against insurance, and would have it even if not required, I
just don't like forcing people to have it.

Car insurance and vehicle licensing treat everybody equally, they aren't
designed to give some people one thing, while giving somebody else
another
based on their economic class or ability to work.
