Just to throw this in CBS has fired Don Imus. I think his career has gone the way of the Greaseman....
Stupidity has consequences. If it's served any purpose, it's turned a bright light on racism in this country, and maybe made people stop and pause on their on racial feelings. It *maybe* deserves a public apology. That's it. So I agree with Gel, let the market work. I think the final impact will be quite surprising to those pushing for Imus's outster. And, while I don't think this will increase institutional racism (institutions rejected it, in fact) I do think it will increase personal racism. It's already started with the hate mail.
