The fact that it was stated on a show known for humor and sarcasm, as well as the overall derogatory nature of the show would be enough to dispel any notion that they were stating was fact vs. comedy. They insult each other as well as others and get cheap laughs at the expense of others, other than being more offensive than usual how does this comment differ from their normal banter? It doesn't.
You're absolutely correct...but you'd have a hard time justifying his remarks as a joke. Again, they have to be stated in such a way that any reasonable person would see it as humor...many reasonable people do not at all find them as anything other than remarks with malicious intent.
