The restore point is based on the driver, so if you upgrade the driver,
then install the apps, then rollback the driver, the apps will be
unaffected, unless those apps rely on driver versions.

You know I never fully understoood how System Restore works.

So you install that new driver...and then install say three programs
before realising that the new driver is a problem.

So you then go and do a System Restore to roll back the system to
before you installed that driver.

What happens to the three programs that you installed after the
driver? What if they copied a file or two to the system directory or
they made registry entries?
