Apparently so!!! ;-) 

For chicken and ribs, start with a really hot grill to sear in the juices
and then cook over the lowest setting you have.  If you are still getting
flare-ups turn off the burner on the side you are cooking on leaving the
other side on medium.  I also try not to add the barbeque sauce till they
are almost done to keep it from burning.

By the way - back on topic - had some awesome grilled steaks last night. I
think we're used to cooking steaks on it. Perfect medium NY Strips. And they
were on sale! $7 a lb.
Now if we can just learn to grill chicken and ribs on it....
