He has an example asteroids application that you can pick apart, along with dozens of tutorials. If you're really serious, look at the Friends of Ed books as well. It's got a ton of stuff/resources so it can be a little overwhelming but the tutorials are good. And from there she can link off to hundreds of other tutorials.
