(1.) Insurance. This is all about *perceived* risk which, as it turns
out, can be calculated with some degree of accuracy. Since there is a
*possibility* that GW may cause increased weather activity, that risk
is currently priced into all of our home insurance. Period.

(2.) Your last sentence is logically inconsistent with your GW
position. If there is global warming, human caused or no, we have no
idea what it's effect would be on climate and storms. It could cause
the temperatures to heat up or cool down, could cause more storms or
less, or could have no perceivable effect. That's the state of
science right now: we don't understand the weather and can't predict
it.

Global Warming says that the amount of energy from the Sun retained by
Earth's atmosphere is increasing. It doesn't say what the rate is,
nor what the effects will be.

If you spin a basketball on your finger and ever so slowly add energy
it may just spin faster, slow down if the energy contributes to
friction, or fly off of your hand due to cascade.

The effects are not predictable unless you make assumptions about
which variables you're holding constant. The same is true with GW.
