Handedness is extremely important in sports. Basketball point guards need to
be equally dexterous when dribbling. Left handed pitchers are prized
possessions, as are left handed first basemen, in baseball.

I spent many, many hours overcoming my biological predisposition to being
right handed, so that I could dribble (and even shoot) equally well with my
left hand. Interestingly, or perhaps not, I'm now a better dribbler with my
left hand.
