I'm not gonna get into which is better argument, but I don't think your
statement that everything in .Net takes 4 or 5 times longer is fair. I used
to code exclusively CF but now my time is split 70/30 .Net. Its where 70% of
my work comes from these days. And the 30% is either legacy contracts or
mismanaged spaghetti coded crap (not a reflection on CF just the coders) I
have to fix.

When I first started coding .Net, much like James I found myself constantly
saying to myself "if .Net only did things like CF". Now I constantly find
myself saying if CF only did things more like .Net. Both languages have
their strong points, and I'll admit I really haven't spent much time doing
hard core coding since the early days of CF6.1. My point is once you wrap
your head around event driven and object oriented programming .Net is
actually a really nice language to develop in. If you make the switch (not
advocating it as I don't know James' situation), I really don't think you
will regret it.

I code in both CF and .Net - there iare no one to one equivalences.

It takes about 4 to 5 times as long to do a task .net as it does in CF.

...Net programmers are going to cost you more per hour than CF
programmers with equivelent experience and will take many more hours
to get the work done.

Can you tell that I am saying "do not switch from CF to .Net".
