I'm trying to help out a friend of mine who has a need to build an HTML/Graphic promotional email to send out to a group of clients. She knows no HTML and has a minimal knowledge of Photoshop. I know there are tools out there to build them, but this is totally not something I've dealt with in a loooong time so I don't know what's out there good/bad/ugly.
The need is something that's gonna be easy to use and inexpensive. It's a fairly small list of email addresses so it doesn't need to actually send the emails, just build a nice HTML template with some alternate text for people who've blocked HTML emails. Optimally it would know about AOL/Gmail/Hotmail/Yahoo/etc trickiness with HTML emails and assist in working around anything that could cause problems with those services. Just taking a shot in the dark here....
