Babies have no choice in any matter. We force them to nurse or not. We force them to wear diapers when they want to be naked. We taken them for shots and on and on. Your argument fails because the individuals with no choice don't have the facility for choice. > And this is all besides the point that the social norm in this country is > > to > > allow it. Are you > intimating that we respect that also? I'm following the argument presented to Judith that we should not be so arrogant as to force our cultural norms on others. Do I accept honor killings? no. Do I accept slavery, murder, pedophilia, forced conversion and a host of other practices in the Islamic world? no. Do I think that the Islamic world should join the 21st century and stop some of their more destructive practices? Yes. But that's my arrogance that says that there are practices in the Islamic world that are wrong. Arrogant me. Bad me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;192386516;25150098;k Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:257787 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
