You know, dude - not every show has to have cute and bouncy bunnies! Some shows a depressing. ;^) This show IS depressing (it is about the near extinction of humanity after all) - but a fundamental aspect of it is hope. On a purely personal level it also features the most amazingly precise scenes of space combat ever created. Even better than the already glorious stuff done in "Firefly". It's almost worth it just to witness that stuff... fast forward through all that boring, depressing talking! Find those scenes where a Basestar is launched several hundred Raiders while firing salvos of dozens of nukes against a rag-tag fleet of humans launching their own Viper squadrons and salvos.
