I'm not sure either......been a long time since I've done physics. I'm not sure that terminal velocity would do you much good, but if you knew a rate of acceleration and a direction at any point on the arc.....you should be able to approximate it's place of origin, if you have a general idea of the weight of the object (given that the gravity and drag coefficients should be constant, right?)
