Thats not the imperialist mindset. We don't OWN foreign countries. We don't govern them, we don't seize their land and treasure. We don't have an emperor or some monarchist government. Hell if we treated Iraq the way we treated Japan and Germany post WW2 we could have $2 a gallon gas, we don't.
Also, the rest of the world shouldn't matter. We are a nation, there is no single world governmental entity. One of the biggest reasons I wouldn't vote for Obama-mama now is that he has said plainly on many occasions that he is a citizen of the world. I don't want a citizen of the world, I want an American.
