>Thats not the imperialist mindset.

>We don't OWN foreign countries. We don't govern them, we don't seize
>their land and treasure.

Didn't the Shrubbery say that the Iraqi oil would pay for the invasion? and
that it would result in cheaper oil.

We don't have an emperor or some monarchist
>government. Hell if we treated Iraq the way we treated Japan and
>Germany post WW2 we could have $2 a gallon gas, we don't.
>
>Also, the rest of the world shouldn't matter. We are a nation, there is
>no single world governmental entity.

You mean like how Rwanda and Sudan think the rest of the world doesn't matter?
And look at where that sort of mindset got the people who live there.

Lets see the US mostly follows that right now. It unconstitutionally ignores
treaty obligations, consistently violates international agreements and then
whines like a spoiled 3 year old when other countries treat it the same as it
treats the rest of the world.

>One of the biggest reasons I wouldn't vote for Obama-mama now is that he
>has said plainly on many occasions that he is a citizen of the world. I
>don't want a citizen of the world, I want an American.

Yes an ostrich candidate does suit many in this country. And every time one has
been elected disaster has followed.

>
>Lets be honest and at least call it the nationalist mindset.

I'd call it something else but then Godwin's law would have to be invoked.
